June 25, 2023January 20, 2024 Reviewed by Cosmo No comments

5 years later, they are back with third “full length” Huginn. Their specific blend of atmospheric black metal captivated me, so I was fairly excited for this one. Wilted expectations.

S.U.P – OCTA Review

June 25, 2023January 20, 2024 Reviewed by Metalligator No comments

OCTA is an odd mix of cleanly sung choruses and industrial metal riffs. Occasionally a doom metal riff or death metal moment will barge into the songs to great effect. A tale of estranged family?

Church of Misery – Born Under a Mad Sign Review

June 25, 2023January 20, 2024 Reviewed by Scuttlegoat No comments

Church of Misery eschew the drug obsessed and occult lyrics of most stoner acts, instead focusing on serial killers, cult leaders and general psychopathy. It helps color the music. Stoned serial killers

The Anchoret – It All Began With Loneliness Review

June 23, 2023December 29, 2023 Reviewed by Metalligator No comments

Nithing are a side and solo project by Vitriol’s drummer, Matt Kilner. Nithing could fall into a similar category as that band. That’s it. There’s Nithing more to say.

Anubis Gate – Interference Review

June 11, 2023February 17, 2024 Reviewed by Metalligator No comments

Interference arrives after a mildly interesting covers album and six years of Anubis Gate-less space, leaving Metalligator apprehensive. Yet the new songs sees them trying some new things and puts a finger on how unique they are in the overly polished progressive metal scene. Polished, but perfect?

Torture Rack – Primeval Onslaught

June 11, 2023February 17, 2024 Reviewed by Scuttlegoat No comments

Torture Rack are in the lineage of bands like Undergang for sure. Their music has a slight hardcore bent and ultimately just revolves around beating people up aurally. Itching for a good beating?
